Equipment

  • fridge

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (60 g)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (50 g)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (10 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (2 g)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (0.75 g)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (14 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (2 g)

Topping

  • chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly grease a small oven-proof container with cooking spray or butter to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • In the over-proof container, combine the all-purpose flour, coconut sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir until these dry ingredients are well combines.
  • To the container of dry ingredients, add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix everything together until you have a smooth, consistent batter.
  • Evenly sprinkle chocolate chips over the surface of the batter. The chocolate chips will melt and create a delicious topping as the cake bakes.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but not wet batter. Let cool and enjoy!
