YES, you heard right!! This Oreo Sushi is made with OATS and 5 ingredients more. It’s completely vegan, gluten-free, and full of flavor.

To make this Oreo Sushi I chose mostly clean ingredients. So feel free to enjoy without guilt! This recipe is a dessert or snack alternative when craving something sweet. You won’t even notice that is healthy!

I love Oreos so much! And this is such a fun way to enjoy a healthy dessert with friends or family.

    Ingredients to make Oreo Sushi

    • oat flour – I love using oat flour because it keeps me satisfied for hours without feeling hungry.
    • Oreos – The main character of the movie.
    • vegan butter– I used an oat-milk based butter but you can use any!
    • milk of choice – I use unsweetened almond milk, which has many healthy benefits, doesn’t raise blood sugar, it’s high in vitamin D and may strengthen your bones. But feel free to add the one of your preference.
    • yogurt – Perfect to make the cream filling. I used vanilla flavored yogurt but you choose any as well.
    • vanilla protein powder – The protein powder will give you an extra protein boost and it will thicken up the filling! I use Protein World protein powder (use my code: oatslady for 30% OFF)

    How to make Oreo Sushi?

    • Prepare – Gather and measure all the ingredients, starting by mixing the crushed Oreos and oat flour in a bowl. Consequently add in, the milk of choice, vegan butter and stir. The mixture will stick together and knead to get a ball-shaped dough.
    • Roll –  Cut a plastic wrap and place it on the table or cutting board. Consequently, place the dough and cover with another piece of plastic wrap. Now, with a rolling pin roll the dough to a rectangle leaving a thickness of 5 mm (could be more, it does not have to be exact).
    • Spread – Use a rubber spatula or spoon to smooth the cream filling over the whole dough rectangle.
    • Assemble – Starting on the long end, roll the dough up tightly jelly roll style. Therefore, cut into 8 slices.
    • Refrigerate – Refrigerate for 15 min so the sushi can harden or if you don’t want to wait, eat immediately.

How to make the Cream Filing?

Easy! It has only 3 simple ingredients.

In a bowl add yogurt, vanilla protein powder and milk of choice. Therefore, mix everything up without leaving any powdery clumps. And that’s it, the cream filling is ready to spread over the whole dough.

How to make the Homemade Chocolate Sauce?

This Chocolate Sauce has only 3 ingredients! First, you will need to sift the unsweetened cacao powder to avoid clumps! Therefore, mix with maple syrup or honey to give the hint of sweetness. And for the latter add any milk of choice to thin out the sauce.

You won’t ever need to buy chocolate sauce at the grocery store anymore. It’s healthy and delicious.

    How to crush Oreo cookies?

    There are 2 methods:

    Method 1: (my choice)

    1. Grab an Oreo cookie, divide in two sides and remove the cream (we don’t want it).
    2. Place cookies in a zip lock bag and start smashing with a rolling pin or meat mallet.

    Method 2:

    1. Grab an Oreo cookie and divide in two sides.
    2. Remove the cream (we don’t want it).
    3. Add in a food processor or blender until Oreos are ground.

    Notes

If you didn’t get to finish the Oreo Sushi, store it in the fridge in an airlight container, for up to a week. It can be enjoyed directly from the fridge.
