I’ve always found apple recipes to be very comforting! Specially for those cold days or whenever you crave something COZY! This Apple Pie Oatmeal bowl is healthy, filling and naturally sweetened.
I’m a FAN of having a bit of everything in a bowl! Something sweet, something crunchy, creamy and thick at the same time and so it is this BOWL.
This is a single serving recipe but feel free to double portions.
How to make Apple Pie Oatmeal
The ingredients
- Rolled oats – I like to use rolled oats because it with a chewier and thicker consistency. But you can use quick oats for a smoother texture.
- Granulated sweetener of choice – add in case your applesauce is not sweetened
- Flaxseed – great for a thick oatmeal. PLUS, you get omega-3 and extra fiber!
- Cinnamon – perfect for the cozy vibes
- Applesauce – I use unsweetened
- Almond butter – a MUST for a creamy oatmeal
- Vanilla extract – for the perfect hint
- Vanilla greek yogurt – Any kind works. If, Vegan make sure to pick a plant-based one
- Milk of choice – I used unsweetened almond milk but you can use any other kind of plant-based or dairy milk
- Cacao nibs – Ohhhh they are the best for the crunchy part of this bowl
- Pinch of salt – Brings out the flavor of all the other ingredients
- Water
The instructions to make Apple Pie Oatmeal
- Prepare – Add all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Then, in another bowl mix the wet ones. And, therefore everything together.
- Cook – In a saucepan, add your mix on a low heat. Stir vigorously for 10 min or until your desired consistency.
- Serve – In a bowl, serve oatmeal and be careful to not burn yourself with the saucepan.
- Toppings – Once you have served the base, start adding the toppings.
- Enjoy – Be ready to daydream!
Ingredients substitutes and notes
- Rolled Oats – If, Gluten-free just make sure to be certified.
- No flaxseed? No problem, add chia seeds!
- Almond butter – If allergic or simply just don’t like it. Omit it
- Sweetener – I used erythritol but you can use any desired sweetener

Dry ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tbsp sweetener
- 2 tsp flaxseed
- dash of cinnamon
- pinch of salt
Wet ingredients
- 3 tbsp applesauce
- 1/2 tbsp almond butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup milk of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk)
Toppings
- Diced apple
- 2 tbsp vanilla greek yogurt
- 1 tsp cacao nibs
- almond butter
Instructions
- Grab a bowl and start to add all the dry ingredients. After that, mix everything up. Therefore, add the wet ingredients to the same bowl and mix well.
- In a saucepan, add the previous mix. Turn on stove on low heat and stir vigorously for 10 min or until your desired consistency.
- In a bowl, serve oatmeal and be careful to not burn yourself with the saucepan.
- Once you have served the oatmeal base, start by adding the toppings.
- Ready to devour!
