You may also relate these treats as the Trader Joe’s Chocolatey Coated Chocolate Chip Cookie Dunkers aka Trader Joe’s Dunkers. But, after seeing these biscuits over and over in my FYP on TikTok I had to definitely give them a try!
What are Cookie Fries?
Cookie fries are simply cookies that look like French fries. Instead of the traditional round or square shapes, these are crinkle-cut, mimicking the look of crispy fries but with the texture and flavor of a homemade cookie.
These chocolate chip cookie fries are baked to perfection and perfect for dipping into your favorite sauce, a creamy glass of milk, a rich chocolate ganache, a sweet caramel dip or even on strawberry milk!

Ingredients

Cookie fries recipe from scratch
After watching so many cookie fries tutorials on TikTok, here’s a version of this recipe without using a pre-made cookie dough from the grocery store with a healthier twist!
The ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter or coconut oil
- 1/2 cup powdered sweetener of choice (erythritol, stevia or monk fruit)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups oat flour
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch of salt
The process
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C), line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle flour on it.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract until well combined. Set this aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the oat flour, almond flour, baking soda and a pinch of salt.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, until the dough comes together.
- Place the batter in a lined 8×8 baking pan, smoothing it out evenly. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to allow the dough to firm up.
- After chilling, knead the dough until it is slightly flat and slice it into “fries” or thin sticks. Carefully place them onto the prepared cookie tray, ensuring they don’t touch.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and slightly crisp. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack. Enjoy!

Yes! You can use gluten-free pre-made cookie dough or make your own gluten-free dough.
When the edges are golden brown and the center feels firm, they’re ready! You can also poke them with a toothpick, if it comes out clean, they’re done.
The best crinkle cutter should have a sturdy handle and a sharp, wavy blade for a clean, even cut. I used this crinkle cutter from Amazon.
The best way to cut cookies is with a sharp knife, crinkle cutter, or cookie cutter. Chill the dough first for easier and cleaner cuts.
Absolutely! You can air fry these French fry cookies for 5-7 minutes but at a lower temperature than baking in the oven.

Another Cookie Flavors
Even iff you’re using a cookie dough tub, you can still create fun variations by adding mix-ins and toppings. Here are some easy ways to customize it:
- Mix-ins: Stir in extra ingredients to the dough before baking with chocolate chips (milk, dark or white), M&M’s, chopped nuts (walnuts, almond or pecans) or toffee bits.
- Swirl in nut butters: Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter or almond butter after baking.
- Sprinkle with spices: Top with a dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice after baking.
Ways to enjoy
Here’s when you can get creative! There are many ways to enjoy and serve these Cookie French Fries with:
- Milk – Classic choice for a milk and cookies experience. My favorite are: oat milk or regular whole milk.
- Coffee – Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up sweet.
- Chocolate spread – Dip in Nutella, Nocciolata or any other of choice!
- Vanilla ice cream – A classic. My personal preference.
- Yogurt – Dip your cookie into vanilla or Greek yogurt for a tangy and healthier twist.
- Whipped cream – Top them with a dollop of whipped cream.

Storage
Store at room temperature: Use an airtight container to keep them fresh for 3-4 days.
Freeze for longer storage: If you’re stacking them, use parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking. Place them in a freezer-safe bag or airtight container for up to 2-3 months in the freezer.
